Charles Sibbick, born in England in 1849, as a boy was boating enthusiast. He began his career as manager of a construction company and sometimes he built some boats. In 1888 he decided to devote himself exclusively to the design and production of racing yachts and pleasure boats. In 1896 he suffered a stroke of luck that helped him in the later stages of his work. The Duke of York, later King George V, naval officer, wanted to sail on his boat between a boarding and more. He was fascinated by the Solent raters. He decided to buy one, but he was in a hurry. He decided to order one of these hulls to Charles Sibbick. He would pay only if he could design and build a boat in a week. Usually the buyer had to wait six weeks after the order acknowledgment. White Rose (the name of the boat) was delivered a day early, in time to participate in a race that the prince was able to win. Sibbick had designed and built 300 boats in his yard when in 1912, he was 62 years hold, he disappeared mysteriously.
