Measurements 9.5x2 cm – 3.8x0.7 inches. It is an ancient instrument for measuring time, which allows you to know the daytime solar time, simply by observing the shadow produced by the gnomon perpendicular to the needle whose orientation is given by the magnetic compass. Turned brass case complete with lid, on the bottom of which a beautiful eight-wind rose of fine workmanship complete with protractor circle divided into 360° has been finely engraved with a burin. At the center of the sundial is the gnomon, fixed above the protective glass of the compass; by placing the instrument in the North/South position, the gnomon projects its shadow into the circle of the ring where the daytime hours are engraved in Roman characters.
