1782315884Code 8509 IndicatorCAB I.S.S.A. turn indicator no. 3/2515 from an aircraft control panel, manufactured in Italy by the I.S.S.A. of Ponte San Pietro, Bergamo, and used on aircraft from the 1940s to indicate to the pilot the aircraft's possible lateral slip during flight. Based on the principles of gravity and centrifugal acceleration, it consists of a moving sphere contained in a graduated curved tube, generally filled with a damping liquid that stabilizes its movement. During a correctly coordinated turn, the sphere remains at the center of the scale, while a movement to the right or left indicates a skid or slide, allowing the pilot to correct the attitude by using the rudder.

I.S.S.A. – Industria Specializzata Strumenti per l’Aeronavigazione (Specialized Aeronautical Instruments Industry) was one of the most important Italian companies in the aeronautical instrumentation sector between the 1920s and 1940s.
The company specialized in the design and construction of onboard instruments for civil and military aircraft, including altimeters, airspeed indicators, compasses, turn indicators, and other air navigation equipment.
It became part of Gianni Caproni's industrial group during the expansion of the national aeronautical industry. Its products equipped numerous Italian aircraft of the time and contributed to the development of the national aviation's technological autonomy. In the 1930s, I.S.S.A. was integrated into the Caproni industrial complex along with other companies specializing in aeronautical production, contributing to the production effort required by the expansion of the Italian Air Force.

Do you provide an authenticity certificate/expertise?
Of course! The legislative decree n. 42/2004 stipulates that who sells works of art or historical and archaeological items has the obligation to deliver to the purchaser the documents attesting to the authenticity of the object, or at least to submit the documents relating to the probable attribution and origin.
