1533130282Code 61061 Syconium 1930Model in enlarged section of the Moraceae syconium (fig for example is a sicon). The model is made of painted plaster and almost certainly made by Paravia in the thirties. Measures cm 16x12 h 24.5 - inches 6.29x4.72 h 9.64.

The Paravia Publishing House was established in 1802 by Giovanni Battista Paravia that took over, after having been director, the Avondo typography. The first steps were certainly not easy: the limitations on printing by the Napoleonic laws at that time in much of Northern Italy caused serious problems to the Publishing House, which resolved after the Restoration in 1814. With the National Unity of Italy in 1861 to Paravia will open new markets and within a few years he set up retail outlets in major cities, and early twentieth century, the publishing house, throughout the peninsula, was one of the most modern and efficient Italian publishing companies.
