It is a small vintage compass typically used in recreational sailing, therefore on boats less subject to magnetic deviation. Furthermore it can be held in the hand and therefore away from the magnetic fields of the boat. It is equipped with a sighting system with target complete with optical prism for magnification and a goniometric compass rose to make it possible to measure the angle between the sighting line and the north indicated by the magnetic needle. Good condition, perfectly working. Measurements: diameter 5.8 cm - 2.3 inches, height 3 cm - 1.2 inches.
T.G. Co. Ltd. was the abbreviation used by The Gramophone Company. After merging with its subsidiary His Master's Voice and Columbia Graphophone Co. in 1931 it became EMI (Electric & Musical Industries), using the brand name "The Gramophone Co." for various articles, later changing it for war contracts in T.G. Co. Ltd. This company ended its activity at the end of the Second World War.
