1770216228Code 8461 Nasal SpeculumKillian nasal speculum in chromed brass England from the early 1900s. This forceps-like instrument features two long, thin blades with a controlled opening system via an adjustment screw that allows for stable dilation of the nostrils, allowing a clearer view of the nasal septum and turbinates and facilitating both diagnostic examinations and minor therapeutic procedures. Thanks to its functionality, it quickly became a reference instrument in clinical practice, and despite modifications in materials and design, its construction principle remains the basis of nasal specula used in ENT today. Good condition. Dimensions: 12 x 3 x 3.5 cm – 4.8 x 1.3 x 1.8 in.

Developed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the German physician Gustav Killian, considered one of the founders of modern otorhinolaryngology, this instrument arose from the need to improve nasal cavity exploration, which until then had been limited by poor lighting and ineffective instruments.
