Very good condition. Including frame cm 53x1.7x42 - inches 20.86x0.66x16.53.

In XVII century, thanks to the influence of works of the same type born in the Nordic countries, the pilot books spread to Italy: in 1664 Francesco Maria Levanto made The first part of the Mirror of the sea, dedicated to Gio Battista delle Rovere, which describes all ports, beaches, bays, islands, reefs and shallows of the Mediterranean sea. To make this work he reused matrices of a similar Dutch work, perhaps De Lichtende Colomne ofte Zeespiegel of 1643, and the title of the Mirror will be reused by Coronelli with some changes for the Isolario of Atlante Veneto.
