The Level is an indispensable tool for surveyors. It is used to accurately measure a plane that is really tangential to the surface of the Earth. It is an instrument consisting of a telescope fixed parallel to the level. The merit of having conceived the combination of telescope and level is due to Jonathan Sisson and Thomas Hearth who both worked between 1825 and 1850 to variants of this instrument. The enormous development of railway construction in the first half of the nineteenth century determined the demand for a level that was quick and easy to use.

Do you provide an authenticity certificate/expertise?

The legislative decree n. 42/2004 stipulates that who sells works of art or historical and archaeological items has the obligation to deliver to the purchaser the documents attesting to the authenticity of the object, or at least to submit the documents relating to the probable attribution and origin.
